Due to the reported ground conditions of soft Alluvium and Lewes nodular chalk we proposed the use of Continuous Flight Auger bored piles which are constructed using a hollow stemmed auger to a maximum pile depth of 14m and a pile diameter of 300mm. Once the design depth has been reached the augers are extracted from the bore whilst concrete is pumped under pressure and the pile reinforcement inserted into the bore to complete the pile.
