Sheppard Piling

Sheppard Piling are pleased to deliver their commercial expertise into the Rail and Infrastructure sectors.

We understand that the investment in the UK’s rail services infrastructure has grown immensely and for this reason we have invested in the necessary accreditations and training to be able to work on these great projects. Our team have delivered foundation projects from single platform extensions to providing supporting structures to railway banks on both minor and major railway lines.

We are RISQS accredited so our site teams, supervisors and management are PTS certified which demonstrates that we have the knowledge of safe working on the UK rail network.

Our continued investment in new rigs, auxiliary equipment and staff training ensures that we are able to carry out rail projects of all sizes and complexities with the same focus on value and environmental considerations that we offer on all other civil engineering projects and building schemes that we are involved in.

Our impressive fleet of equipment enables us to deliver on a range of foundation requirements with bespoke solutions designed for each project’s unique combination of loads, sub-surface ground conditions and restricted access requirements. We have specialist rigs that are built for restrictive access piling and confined spaces which are ideal for a number of rail infrastructure projects.

We are very aware of environmental considerations and have considerable experience in delivering sustainable designs engineered to minimise the use of concrete and steel, which can negate the need for wet material at trackside, which reduces both cost and programme time.

Our in-house design team have extensive experience of producing foundation solutions to challenging schemes and other required elements associated with rail projects including planning, attending meetings with clients and network engineers that ensures collaboration throughout the life-span of the project.
